Operations: Slingshot & Nomad

Project DYNAMO: On The Ground, Conducting Rescues of Americans and Allies By Air & Land

Project DYNAMO rapidly forward-deployed in August 2021 prior to the American withdrawal of Afghanistan and the subsequent Taliban takeover on 30 August.

The team conducted dozens of operations during the mass evacuation. When the U.S. Military withdrew, thousands of allies, Green Card holders, and American Citizens were left behind in the clutches of the Taliban. This is when DYNAMO was truly born. On 26 September 2021, just over three weeks after the Taliban took control, Project DYNAMO conducted a daring operation landing the first charter aircraft in Kabul, rescuing 117 Americans.

Project DYNAMO: Rescues in the Grey Space

The DYNAMO team and their American evacuees flew from Kabul to Chicago. This operation was the first “Kabul to CONUS” rescue in “The Grey Space”, and set the tone for the hundreds of follow-on operations. The September operation, SLINGSHOT 1, is recognized as one of the largest single private war zone rescues of Americans in U.S. history.

DYNAMO has since conducted dozens of operations in Afghanistan via land and air, rescuing thousands from the brutality of the Taliban regime.

Project DYNAMO: Our Work Began When They Were Left Behind

Operation: SLINGSHOT Airborne rescue operations from Afghanistan of American citizens, U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents (Green Card holders), Special Immigrant Visas (SIV), and high-profile/high- risk allies. SLINGSHOT uses charter, private and commercial aircraft.

Operation: NOMAD Land/Ground based cross-border rescue operations from Afghanistan to neighboring countries. These are highly- complex operations used for extreme cases who cannot come to the U.S. directly or if the threat is too high for air exfiltration.

Project DYNAMO has conducted these operations into Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and other sensitive countries.
