The coalition of veterans groups has opened new northern escape routes for the thousands of former Afghan interpret mission, called Dynamo II, is a new “air branch” of the group Digital Dunkirk, a group of veterans who were being contacted for help by their former interpreters and other at-risk Afghans.
The group was named in reference to the evacuation, called Operation Dynamo, of Allied soldiers during World War II from the beaches of Dunkirk by an assortment of military and civilian boats called into service by British Prime Minister Winston Churchill.
